Skills for Health are undertaking research for the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) to help shape the future of the physiotherapy profession.
As part of the Professional Body Education Reform Commission, the CSP is working to ensure the future workforce is equipped with the right skills, in the right place, to deliver high-quality care.
Our role
We are conducting a survey to help us understand the strategic and operational policies across four nations with the aim of understanding how physiotherapy is included in workforce assessments and strategies at both employer and regional levels.
With the findings and evaluation, we can ensure that physiotherapy is well-positioned to meet the needs of both professionals and patients. Doing so will allow for member interventions and resources to be designed to support sustainability of this approach to pre-registration training.
Thereasa Gatfield, Senior Consultant at Skills for Health said:
“This initiative aims to understand how physiotherapy is integrated into workforce planning and strategies. The data collected will be instrumental in ensuring that physiotherapists are equipped with the necessary skills and competencies to meet patient needs effectively. By participating in this survey, professionals can contribute to the sustainability of high-quality care and the enhancement of physiotherapy services nationwide.”
Want to take part?
To help us gain greater understanding, we want to hear from leaders and managers about their experiences of how they influence or contribute to physiotherapy workforce planning.
Our survey is now open.
