We are delighted to announce and welcome the appointment of Keith Fraser as a Trustee and Non-Executive Director of our board at Skills for Health.

As a not-for-profit organisation committed to the development of an improved and sustainable healthcare workforce across the UK, our board is comprised of members who come from a broad spectrum of public sector organisations, who come together to inform, set out and direct our strategy to achieve this.

John Rogers, Chief Executive, Skills for Health says: “We are delighted to welcome Keith to our board. Our organisational mission is to develop workforces providing high quality services for public benefit. Keith has in-depth knowledge and experience across the justice sector, but also a wider engagement and commitment to people development across all of the sectors that we engage with. We are very much looking forward to working with Keith as we develop and expand our service in the medium and the long term.”

Keith is the Chair of the Youth Justice Board for England and Wales, appointed by The Secretary of State on April 14, 2020, after becoming a member in January 2018. He is also an Advisor for the National Police Chiefs Council Digital Engagement Project for Young People, Chair of Employability UK, and a trustee on the Board of Sport Birmingham and the National Emergency Services memorial.

Prior to this, Keith was a Superintendent and Chief Inspector in the West Midlands Police, having joined the Metropolitan Police as a Constable, during which time he produced the 2016-19 Preventing Gang Involvement and Youth Violence strategy and was Head of Learning and Development for 13,000 staff.

Keith also produced the business plan for City of Wolverhampton council, where he was the Chair of the authority’s statutory Youth Offending Management Board. He led an innovative, preventative project, targeting over 7,000 young people, working with Sport England and was the Strategic Police Lead for the Princes Trust across the West Midlands.

Keith Fraser said: “I’m proud to have been selected to join the board at Skills for Health. After over 34 years working in the public sector and working with partners who also support the sector, I am passionate about ensuring that the people have the skills they need to deliver great service. Being part of the board will enable me to support current good practice and innovate. This is an exciting opportunity.”
