For the second year running, our digital solutions eRostering team are finalists in the Health Tech Newspaper’s (HTN) Health Tech Awards, having developed and launched a customisable eRostering system that simplifies the rostering process to provide the NHS with great efficiency benefits.

Having reached last year’s final in the ‘Most Promising Pilot’ category, Skills for Health and the Custom Rostering System have been short-listed for 2022’s SME Innovation award.

The HTN Now Awards help to share and celebrate digital teams, programmes, innovations and health tech suppliers that have made a difference through the year, sharing new ways of working that can help shape future services and systems across our NHS, health and care sectors.

Launched in October 2021, Customer Rostering System (CRS) has been found by users to be intuitive and packed with clever features which provide gains in accuracy and efficiency for rostering staff. Attuned to each and every person on the roster, CRS understands the exact terms and conditions, and methods of rostering that should be applied to a complex and diverse workforce. Staff can be selected according to the skills required, while CRS monitors compliance and immediately directs the planner to any issue with the roster.

Potential to integrate with payroll systems enables easy costing, and Skills for Health’s partnerships with bank staff solutions enable NHS Trusts to reduce agency costs.

CRS can be tailored by different managers to provide the roster views they require for their specific roles within the organisation. This emphasis on providing exactly the information required, also allows complex clinical schedules to be managed easily, with a real-time view of events including training and work assignments. For multi-professional events and rosters, CRS allows selection according to the expertise and roles required for successful delivery.

By recognising specialities, skills, and experience, CRS enables healthcare providers to respond to a changing healthcare landscape, day-to-day challenges and evolving needs.

Developed as a tool for culture change and designed to transform workforce planning roles from data entry to data intelligence, Custom Rostering System enables the right staff to be involved in making informed decisions, directly reducing computer-based planning and administrative work, and freeing clinicians to concentrate on patient care.
