The Workforce Development Trust, which is headquartered in Bristol, has joined Bristol Green Capital Partnership (BGCP) – a 1,000-strong group of organisations in the city working together to achieve net zero.
The move signals the registered charity’s commitment to reducing scope 1, 2 and 3 carbon emissions by 2030 in line with government targets.
As the parent organisation of Skills for Health, Skills for Justice, SFJ Awards and People 1st International, The Workforce Development Trust supports the public sector to deliver better frontline services through specialist skills and organisational development initiatives.
Having called the city of Bristol home for more than twenty years, The Workforce Development Trust joins an active community of organisations working towards a zero carbon, socially just Bristol where our communities and nature thrive.
Chief Executive of The Workforce Development Trust John Rogers comments:
“Bristol is leading the charge when it comes to net zero, and with so many forward-thinking businesses and organisations in the city, Bristol Green Capital Partnership offers a unique platform to help charities like ours to decarbonise.
“The Workforce Development Trust has always had a strong social purpose at its core, and we welcome the opportunity to be part of carbon reduction initiatives on a national basis as a supplier to government, as well as collective efforts to achieve net zero right here in Bristol.”
Welcoming The Workforce Development Trust to the fold Lizzi Testani, Chief Executive Officer of BGCP, said:
“The Workforce Development Trust plays an important role in supporting our vital public services. A trusted supplier to the NHS and the justice sector, we welcome The Workforce Development Trust’s efforts to decarbonise and the positive impact this will have on government supply chains.”
