Sarah Connelly
Rostering and DRS
Senior Rostering Consultant
Sarah Connelly joined Skills for Health in 2015 and we believe she’s a force for good. As a qualified Registered General Nurse RGN in 1985, having completed training at The Royal Free Hospital in London, Sarah spent several years gaining different experiences, A&E, Gastroenterology and General surgery, having last worked clinically as a Surgical Ward Sister specialising in Vascular, breast and Urological surgery in Barnstaple in Devon.
In 1997 Sarah joined the North Thames Task Force on Junior Doctors Hours, this then became part of the London Regional Action, tasked with improving doctors working lives and helping Trusts reduce their hours. After various reconfigurations, Sarah became Head of Medical Workforce at North Central London Strategic Health Authority until 2007, followed by a role at Great Ormond Street Hospital as their EWTD and New Deal lead until 2014. As part of The Regional Action team, Sarah was instrumental in the development of DRS (Doctors Rostering System), the first online Rota Compliance solution for the NHS.
Sarah’s role as Senior Rostering Consultant is varied, working closely with customers to help demonstrate the benefits of eRostering our Rostering, or providing training on our software for our medical staff and rostering users.
Sarah’s passion for improving workforce management is based on a desire to make a difference, to help a customers implement Realtime Rostering and see what a difference it can make to them and how it can help them improve services for both patients and staff.
